CATIE and Southwest® will grant micro, small, and medium social enterprises access to materials and support.
CATIE offers a 2 year in-person training program for rural communities in Costa Rica.
Social enterprises develop and sell products with a percentage going back to CATIE to support the program.
Visitors learn about the concept of the circular economy and repurposing.
Since 2014, Southwest has donated more than $2 million in airline tickets and grant funding and 1.4 million pounds of leather to provide employment, skills training, and other social benefits for communities.
